If Short Stack runs slowly on your phone, it turns on Reduce Animations by itself, once, and tells you with a Smoother play card. Lines then clear with a quick fade, Styles hold still and Chests open without confetti.
To bring the animations back, tap Turn animations back on, on that card, or turn off Reduce Animations in Account › Options.
